The Austrians, especially the Viennese, is infamous for being grumpy and unfriendly all around the globe. To understand the average Austrian better, I want to summarize their basic characteristically traits and help you understand them better. We are really nice, but just need a little time to warm up with strangers.
Christmas Markets open up all over Vienna these days. It’s only mid November, but the average Austrian is already in desperate need of their fair share of hot Glühwein (mulled wine) and Punsch (punch). Going to work has finally a meaning again for exhausted office workers. They are looking forward to all the get-togethers to warm up over a hot beverage in cold, wet Vienna.
The Viennese coffee house and its culture shaped Vienna and its people as who they are today. Being UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2011, Vienna of course needs it’s own Coffee Museum.
